Using the Birdingpal resources you must agree to the following: If you contact a local Birdingpal and make arrangement to go birding, you should note it is common courtesy to make sure you show up for the appointment. If for any reason you are unable to do this, the least you must do is contacting the local Pal right away.
Please note that most Birdingpals are serious birdwatchers. It is a privilege to contact them, and your message should reflect it. A local Pal does not get paid, but should he/she offer to take you out birding, using their own vehicle, it would be courteous to pay for the fuel. A lunch and/or a small gift would also be appropriate, something as simple as a souvenir of your country, or a pin from your local birding club.

Since childhood, south coast UK where my folks had a house with rear garden backing onto orchards, I've fascinated with birds. Favourite then was the bluetit because it was handsome and dainty......it was always the bird that robbed our milk on the doorstep by piercing the bottle top.
I built bird boxes which were frequented every year....and gave the bonus of looking in on the clutch of eggs.(8 or so for bluetit)
Lost the scope in life to do as intensely.....later. One high point was Brazil seeing humming birds close up. Another, my new home in a village outside Dublin, a stones throw from the biggest natural park globally .. so many birds seen from a 2nd story fully glazed apartment elevation looking down on a salmon river......frequently flying into the flat over the balcony. Never saved any birds lives after trying so many times and goofing.......but 2 yrs ago whilst at work as a bricklayer on an old cottage inside Phoenix pk itself... the carpenters knocked out an unoccupied swifts nest to install a passageway roof. I bought online a prefabricated hemi-nest that I thought could suffice after their crevice original. The craftsmen & Boss said this would not work......it worked and gave ME far more satisfaction & WORTHINESS than any of the clever conservation I crafted on the cottage.
Now one week ago while in the beach area of Anping Taiwan ....I had a first sighting of a small to medium sized bird with bright indigo blue flashes on flutter of wings. I don't know what it was. Smaller than a Jaybird....but not plump like a bunting. Now the enigma has brought me to the doorstep of BirdingPal to explore with my abundant free time.
Maritime birds don't draw me ...woodland stock the most various and songful.
